En la marca muniquesa lo han llamado Efficient Dynamics, puesto que sus vehículos modernos además de caracterizarse por una evidente deportividad y dinamismo, también persiguen conseguir unas reducidas cifras de consumo y, por consiguiente, de emisiones.Estos innovadores sistemas son algo más que medidas para la conservación del medioambiente, puesto que resultan un concepto de tecnología aplicada al automóvil que optimiza el confort de los pasajeros. Por ejemplo, la marca alemana es pionera desde hace algunos años en la utilización del conocido sistema Start/Stop que montan ahora otros fabricantes, que ahorra combustible y por tanto emite menos CO2 al medioambiente cuando se circula por grandes urbes con la habitual densidad de tráfico diario. Sin ir más lejos, esa es una de las iniciativas más perceptibles que BMW lleva un tiempo poniendo en marcha para que sus coches sean los más ecológicos del mercado.

Faltan tres meses para que Opel presente oficialmente en el Salón del Automóvil de Londres (22 de julio) su nuevo Insignia, el sustituto del actual Vectra. Pero la marca alemana se adelanta y facilita ya las primeras fotografías oficiales, además de aportar los primeros datos. Dos cosas llaman poderosamente la atención en la nueva berlina de Opel que, muy probablemente, superará los resultados de la última generación del Vectra. Por una parte, sus 4,83 metros de largo (22 cm más que el Vectra) le sitúan por tamaño a la cabeza del segmento, prácticamente igualado con el nuevo Ford Mondeo. Y por otra, su musculosa carrocería con tintes de coupe, que recuerda al recién presentado Volkswagen Passat CC y, en otro nivel de lujo y precio, al Mercedes CLS.
